Job summary

Dietz Property Group is seeking a Director of Property Accounting to lead the Property Accounting team and oversee accounting operations for a portfolio of commercial and multifamily properties. The role ensures GAAP-compliant financial reporting and partners with operations, asset management and executives to drive performance.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years in real estate accounting, 3+ years in leadership, and experience with Real Page, Yardi, and MRI.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration, or equivalent.
• CPA/CMA preferred.
• 7+ years accounting experience in real estate/property management.
• 3+ years leadership or supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes for a portfolio of properties.
• Review and approve property-level financial statements and reconciliations for accuracy.
• Coordinate CAM reconciliations and audits with external parties.
• Lead and develop the property accounting team with a focus on accuracy and efficiency.
• Develop annual operating budgets, forecasts, and reforecasts with operations teams.
• Maintain robust internal controls and ensure reporting deadlines are met.
• Manage year-end audits and coordinate with tax advisors and external auditors.
• Oversee treasury functions and cash management controls.
