Job summary

Henderson Scott is seeking a Senior Accounting Business Systems Analyst to enhance financial systems and processes for a large insurance organization. You will collaborate across Accounting, Finance, Insurance Operations and Technology to gather requirements, improve processes and ensure platforms meet regulatory and reporting needs.

You will translate accounting requirements into system designs, support ERP implementations, design integrations with the general ledger and coordinate testing

Qualifications

• Strong experience as a Business Systems Analyst within accounting, finance or insurance
• Good knowledge of general ledgers, sub-ledgers, reconciliations and month-end close
• Understanding of insurance processes such as premiums, claims, reserves or reinsurance
• Experience with ERP platforms such as SAP, Oracle or NetSuite
• Strong SQL, Excel and data analysis skills
• Experience with system integrations, testing and UAT coordination
• Knowledge of GAAP, statutory accounting, SOX or insurance regulations would be beneficial
• Strong stakeholder management, documentation and problem-solving skills

Responsibilities

• Gather and translate accounting requirements into system designs and user stories
• Analyse financial and insurance processes across billing, claims, commissions and reinsurance
• Support the implementation and improvement of ERP and insurance platforms
• Design and validate integrations between operational systems and the general ledger
• Create test plans and coordinate system, integration and user acceptance testing
• Ensure financial data is accurate and reconciled across sub-ledgers and the general ledger
• Support regulatory reporting, internal controls, audits and process documentation
