Job summary

Sorren in California is seeking an experienced accounting professional to supervise and review complex accounting functions for multiple entities, including reconciliations, entries, and AR. You will oversee annual procedures for tax prep, 1099s, and tangible property returns, and prepare monthly/quarterly/annual financial compilations.

Qualifications

• 4-6 years of experience in general accounting.
• CPA license or eligible (preferred).
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.
• Thorough understanding of GAAP and financial reporting frameworks.
• Proficiency in learning and using accounting software and related tools.
• Developing leadership and communication skills for mentoring teams and managing client relationships.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Analytical thinking to identify risks and solutions in financial reporting.
• Oversee multiple engagements and ensure compliance with firm procedures.
• Full-time commitment and flexibility to work beyond regular hours.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and review complex accounting functions, including reconciliations, adjusting entries, bill payments, and accounts receivable for multiple entities.
• Oversee annual accounting procedures to prepare financial records for tax preparation, 1099s, and tangible personal property returns.
• Prepare financial compilations on a monthly, quarterly, or annual basis based on client needs.
• Identify and address material misstatements, inconsistencies, and risks in financial reports.
• Provide advisory and financial consulting services to clients, leveraging industry expertise.
• Prepare engagement budgets and monitor performance to ensure efficient use of resources.
• Foster and develop meaningful client relationships to ensure expectations are defined and met.
• Conduct detailed reviews of engagements, providing constructive feedback and mentoring less experienced team members.
• Research complex accounting issues and present recommendations with supporting documentation.
• Communicate effectively with team members and clients to address project statuses and financial concerns.
• Participate in training programs and independent learning to maintain and expand technical knowledge.
• Demonstrate time management skills to prioritize engagements and ensure timely delivery of work.
• Perform other duties and display flexibility to take on a variety of responsibilities assigned by firm leadership.
• Meet annual billable hour and other targets to fulfill individual performance and overall firm productivity.
