Job summary

Sorren, Inc. is seeking an experienced accountant to perform and supervise complex tasks for multiple entities. You will oversee year-end processes, prep for tax and 1099 reporting, and review compilations on a monthly to annual cadence.

The role requires 3–5 years of accounting experience, a Bachelor's in accounting, and strong GAAP knowledge. CPA eligibility is preferred; proficient with accounting software and stellar communication is essential.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in general accounting.
• CPA license or eligibility (preferred).
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting frameworks.
• Proficiency in learning and using accounting software and related tools.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for collaboration and client interactions.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Accurate mathematical and financial analysis skills.
• Ability to work independently while coaching newer team members and seeking support from leadership as needed.
• Analytical thinking to identify and address inconsistencies in financial reporting.
• Demonstrated problem-solving skills with proactively proposed solutions.

Responsibilities

• Perform, supervise, and review complex accounting tasks for multiple entities.
• Oversee annual accounting procedures to prepare records for tax preparation, 1099s, and tangible personal property returns.
• Prepare and review compilations on a monthly, quarterly, or annual basis based on client requirements.
• Identify material misstatements and evaluate inconsistencies in financial reports.
• Prepare client cash flow forecasts and monitor engagement performance against budgets.
• Communicate effectively with team members and clients to address project statuses and inquiries.
