Job summary

Stout in Irvine, CA seeks an experienced finance professional to lead accounting and reporting advisory engagements across a range of clients. You will research, prepare deliverables, assess complex contracts, and communicate findings clearly to clients and leadership.

Responsibilities include preparing reconciliations, accounting memoranda, financial statements, and SEC schedules. A CPA and 8+ years in finance are preferred; innovation and client service drive growth in this role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Finance or Accounting.
• 8+ years finance process and/or transformation experience.
• Industries include manufacturing, CPG, healthcare, and financial services.
• Combination of audit and advisory experience.
• Post-acquisition transaction experience preferred.
• CPA preferred.

Responsibilities

• Partner with clients across stages in an industry-agnostic environment.
• Prepare and review account reconciliations and client communications.
• Review contracts and conduct technical accounting research.
• Prepare accounting memoranda and policies.
• Determine journal entries and other operational accounting matters.
• Prepare financial statements, footnotes, and disclosures.
• Research SEC filing requirements and supporting schedules.
• Serve as post-acquisition integration SME for IMO practices.
• Act as technical accounting SME for the firm's valuation practice.
• Oversee day-to-day accounting operations (AP/AR, payroll, journal entries).
• Engage in business development including client pursuits and proposals.
• Identify efficiencies and new ways of working across projects.
• Interact with ERPs like NetSuite, Sage Intacct, SAP, Oracle.
• Leverage AI tools to enhance research and deliverables.
• Be an entrepreneurial self-starter contributing to service-line growth.
