Job summary

Valley Metro is seeking an experienced accounting leader to manage and coordinate complex accounting programs, oversee a team, and ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with accounting standards.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field and five years of progressively responsible accounting experience, including knowledge in general/governmental accounting, financial reporting, and grants/compliance. Supervisory experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in accounting, finance, business administration, or related field.
• Five years of progressively responsible accounting experience.
• Experience in general/governmental accounting, financial reporting, or grants/compliance.

Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate complex accounting transactions, journal entries, reconciliations, and financial records.
• Lead and supervise accounting activities and staff; provide guidance and training.
• Coordinate general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, cash management, and close processes.
• Prepare and analyze financial reports, schedules, and documentation; identify risks and variances.
• Develop and improve accounting procedures, internal controls, and financial systems.
• Support audits and respond to inquiries; perform special projects as assigned.
