Job summary

Lakemary Center in Paola, KS seeks an Accounting Operations Manager to lead the Finance department’s day-to-day functions, ensuring accurate, compliant processes. You will supervise Billing, A/P, Payroll, and Representative Payee, while shaping policies and controls.

Qualifications include a Bachelor's in Accounting/Finance, 7+ years nonprofit finance leadership, and strong communication and analytical skills. This role reports to the CFO and supports budget planning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA or advanced degree preferred.
• 7+ years of progressive nonprofit finance experience with leadership responsibility.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, practices, and regulations.
• Proficiency in accounting systems and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively across departments and with external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage the Accounting Operations team (Billing, Accounts Payable, Payroll, and Representative Payee).
• Ensure team members are trained, motivated, and meet performance standards.
• Develop, implement and monitor accounting policies and procedures for efficiency and control.
• Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of billing, accounts payable, and payroll functions.
• Implement improvements in accounting systems and processes for better efficiency.
• Coordinate with internal and external auditors during audits and provide documentation.
• Provide reports on operational metrics to the CFO and leadership; assist budgets and forecasts.
