Job summary

Exelon is seeking a senior accounting leader to oversee a diverse accounting team responsible for month-end closes and Sarbanes-Oxley controls. You will collaborate with cross-functional partners to ensure accurate financial records and timely reporting, while guiding forecasting and regulatory support.

The role emphasizes process improvements, data-driven decision making, and developing high-performing teams within a large utility company. A CPA or equivalent credential is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent.
• 7–10 years of related accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and SOX compliance (FASB/GAAP).
• Proven documentation and memo-writing abilities.
• Excellent analytical and presentation skills.
• Proven leadership and project management abilities.

Responsibilities

• Oversee monthly and quarterly close processes and SOX controls (20%).
• Prepare and analyze internal and external financial reports.
• Collaborate with crossfunctional partners for forecasting and planning.
• Lead process improvements and special accounting projects.
• Mentor and develop accounting staff; foster a collaborative team.
• Support auditors and regulatory reporting.
