Exelon is seeking an experienced accounting leader to oversee a team responsible for the monthly close, reporting, and regulatory support. The role requires strong knowledge of GAAP, SOX, and cross-functional collaboration to drive accurate financial records and insightful business decision support.

The position emphasizes process improvements, teamwork, and leadership to foster a high-performance finance culture. _Occasional overtime and travel may be required._

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent.
• 7-10 years of related experience.
• Knowledge of Accounting theory, principles, practices and regulations including FASB/GAAP and SOX compliance.
• Ability to document a broad range of issues in work papers, disclosures and memos.
• Strong analytical skills in evaluating data and the ability to exercise judgment.
• Demonstrated successful use of technology.

Responsibilities

• Oversee monthly close and ensure accurate, timely financials with SOX controls.
• Prepare monthly and quarterly reports; analyze variances and trends; review reconciliations.
• Engage cross-functional partners to resolve accounting issues and present results to leadership.
• Interact with auditors; support regulatory data requests and audits.
• Lead process improvements, automation projects, and regulatory changes.
• Manage and mentor a team of accountants to foster growth and high performance.
