Job summary

Exelon is seeking an experienced accounting leader to oversee an accounting team, ensure timely financial statements, and uphold Sarbanes-Oxley controls. You will collaborate with cross-functional partners to drive accuracy, forecasting, and process improvements.

The role involves monthly close, reconciliations, audit support, and mentoring staff while maintaining the highest standards of quality and integrity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent.
• 7-10 years of related experience.
• Knowledge and understanding of Accounting theory, principles, practices and regulations including FASB/GAAP and SOX compliance.
• Ability to document a broad range of issues in work papers, disclosures and memos.
• Strong analytical skills in evaluating data and the ability to exercise judgment.
• Demonstrated successful use of technology to improve process efficiency.
• Effective communication and presentation skills.
• Effective teambuilding and leadership skills.
• Demonstrated project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Monthly and Quarterly Close - Oversee and support the monthly financial statement close process and SOX controls.
• Reporting and Analysis - Prepare monthly and quarterly reports and analyze variances.
• Collaboration and Communication - Engage cross-functional partners and present operating results to Leadership.
• Audit and Regulatory Support - Interact with auditors and support regulatory data requests.
• Process Improvements - Lead projects to improve processes and leverage new technologies.
• Team Leadership and Development - Manage and mentor accountants and foster a collaborative environment.
