Job summary

Odyssey Logistics is seeking a Senior Manager, Accounting in Charlotte, NC with a hybrid work model. This role leads month-end close, reconciliations, audits, budgeting, and process improvements, partnering with Corporate Accounting and FP&A to ensure accurate results.

The candidate will oversee multiple accounting team members, drive timely reporting, and collaborate across functions to strengthen internal controls and standards. CPA is preferred for this leadership role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business management required; CPA preferred.
• Minimum seven years of accounting experience required.
• Public and private accounting experience preferred.
• Experience in transportation and logistics preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel (filters, pivot tables, VLOOKUP).

Responsibilities

• Manage and evaluate direct reporting employees with performance reviews.
• Facilitate monthly financial close according to timelines.
• Review monthly account reconciliations.
• Improve processes, procedures, and training docs.
• Assist Corporate with local non-income tax filings.
• Assist with annual insurance and financial audits.
• Assist with annual budget preparation.
• Review subsidiary journals for errors and post corrections.
• Collaborate with Corporate FP&A for analyses.
• Cross-train within department to back up leadership.
• Participate in recruitment with executive approvals.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
