Job summary

VyStar Credit Union is seeking a General Accounting Manager to lead the accounting department, overseeing accounts payable, fixed assets, prepaid expenses and accruals, and general ledger reconciliations. This role ensures compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements while driving close processes and reporting accuracy.

Responsibilities include developing a high-performing team, implementing process improvements, and supporting senior management with strategic financial analyses.

Qualifications

• Requires strong knowledge of accounts payable, fixed assets, GL reconciliations, prepaids and accruals, close process, and internal controls.
• Broad accounting expertise in financial services or large-scale operations.
• Excellent leadership and ability to develop a team and influence across departments.

Responsibilities

• Directs accounts payable function and ensures timely payments to vendors.
• Oversees fixed assets capitalization, depreciation, and asset reporting.
• Manages general ledger reconciliations and closes at month-end/quarter-end.
• Leads internal controls testing and process improvements.
