Job summary

Heartland Dental, based in Indianapolis, is seeking an Accounting Manager to lead a team ensuring GAAP-compliant financial reporting and a timely monthly close.

You will oversee reconciliations, capital expenditure reporting, and coordination with internal and external partners while driving process improvements. The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's in Accounting, with Big4 or large regional firm experience and CPA or CPA candidacy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
• Public accounting experience (Big4 or large regional firm).
• CPA or CPA candidate desired.
• Strong understanding of US GAAP.
• Experience with balance sheet reconciliations.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient with Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Ability to manage multiple projects in a deadline-driven environment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee a team of individuals ensuring transactions are recorded in accordance with GAAP and policies.
• Perform detailed reconciliations reviews for balance sheet accounts monthly.
• Ensure monthly close process is executed timely and reconciliations completed accurately.
• Ensure capital expenditure reporting is accurate and distributed timely.
• Assist with monthly, quarterly and annual financial statement close reporting including footnotes with proper support.
• Management of process improvement initiatives.
• Build and maintain relationships with internal and external partners.
• Assist with system design and implementations when appropriate.
• Other projects as assigned.
