Indirect Tax Manager – Accounting & Finance

The Indirect Tax Manager’s main responsibility will be to lead the Indirect Tax Team while focusing on Business License and Compliance. This role will report to the Senior Manager of Treasury & Investor Relations.

Below is an overview of the duties and responsibilities you would take on in this role:

• Lead and cultivate a positive culture within the Indirect Tax Team, providing for positive working relationships with other business partners within and outside of Accounting & Finance.
• Ensure all indirect tax, business license and related compliance filings are completed in a timely manner.
• Assess and evaluate current processes and data flow surrounding tax processes.
• Act as a liaison between external parties assisting with filings and Heartland Dental to maximize relationship and efficiencies of processes.
• Create strategic reports to department leadership on progress with all indirect tax filings, licensing, compliance filings and technology projects.
• Review account reconciliations and partner with both other areas of Treasury and the Corporate Tax Team to ensure timely income tax payments and tracking.
• Partner with Corporate Tax Team and Legal Team to monitor relevant regulation updates.
• This role will lead and mentor a team (1-5); monitor their progress and goal setting, as well as conduct annual performance reviews while delivering direct feedback throughout the course of the year.

Minimum Requirements:

• Must reside within the Indianapolis, IN or Effingham, IL area.
• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance or related field, or similar proven professional experience in Accounting, Finance, Tax and/or Treasury.
• 2+ years Management experience within Accounting, Finance, Tax and/or Treasury.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Must have strong organization skills and demonstrate an attention to detail.
• Must show ability to multi-task and work well independently.
• Ability to independently and successfully problem-solve.
• Proven ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with internal and external business partners.

Desirable Qualifications:

• Prior experience with indirect tax, business licensing.
• Proven experience in a fast-paced, large entity environment.
• Experience in a multinational Corporate Tax and Treasury departments a plus.
• Proficiency with U.S. GAAP.
• Experience with tax technologies and managing relationships with 3^rd party filers.
