tag seeks a Senior Accounting Manager to lead the accounting function for its Chicago-based operations. You will manage close processes, budgets and internal controls while guiding a small accounting team and collaborating with leadership to drive accurate financial reporting.

The role requires extensive GAAP knowledge, 7+ years in accounting and proven supervisory experience in a sales-driven manufacturing/distribution setting. CPA/CMA preferred; office-based with Hybrid or on-site flexibility.

Qualifications

• Seven+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least two years in a managerial/supervisory role.
• Experience in a sales-driven manufacturing, importing, wholesale or consumer-goods distribution environment preferred.
• Thorough knowledge of U.S. GAAP, financial reporting and internal controls.
• Strong proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office suite.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day general accounting functions: AP, AR, GL entries, reconciliations and credit-card expenses.
• Oversee monthly and year-end close, prepare financial statements and supporting work papers.
• Coordinate annual budgets, forecasts and variance analyses.
• Maintain internal controls and compliance with accounting policies.
• Prepare trial balance and reconcile schedules; coordinate with parent company and overseas offices.
• Lead accounting team, develop staff and ensure timely, accurate reporting.
