About the Opportunity

Impact Recruiting is partnering with an established engineering and technology company that delivers innovative solutions supporting critical infrastructure. This is an opportunity to play a key role in a growing, collaborative organization where your expertise and contributions will have a direct impact. You'll work closely with executive leadership, oversee the accounting function, strengthen financial processes, and help the company get the most out of its NetSuite ERP system.

The ideal candidate brings a strong foundation in accounting, proven leadership experience, and a practical, solutions‑oriented approach. We're looking for someone who can balance the details of daily accounting with the bigger picture of improving processes, controls, and financial reporting.

What You’ll Do
  • Lead day‑to‑day accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, accruals, and fixed assets.
  • Own the monthly and year‑end close processes, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Supervise, mentor, and support a small accounting team, providing guidance, accountability, and opportunities for professional development.
  • Prepare and review financial statements, supporting schedules, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
  • Oversee project and job‑cost accounting to ensure accurate tracking and reporting of project‑related financial activity.
  • Partner with executive leadership on financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and operational decision‑making.
  • Serve as a key resource for NetSuite, identifying opportunities to improve system functionality, reporting, workflows, and overall efficiency.
  • Develop, document, and strengthen accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Coordinate with external accounting partners and support annual audits, tax preparation, and compliance requirements.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes, improve data accuracy, and build scalable accounting practices.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure financial information supports business and project needs.
What We’re Looking For
  • 15+ years of progressive accounting experience, including hands‑on responsibility for general ledger accounting and financial close.
  • Strong, practical experience with Oracle NetSuite is required, including accounting operations, reporting, and process improvement.
  • Experience with project accounting and job‑cost tracking.
  • Demonstrated experience supervising and developing accounting staff.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial statements, reconciliations, accruals, and internal controls.
  • Experience managing full‑cycle accounting activities, including AP, AR, fixed assets, and month‑end close.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize competing deadlines, and maintain accuracy in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with both accounting and non‑accounting stakeholders.
  • A hands‑on leadership style and willingness to roll up your sleeves when needed.
Nice to Have
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

  • Experience with multistate payroll taxes and related compliance.
  • Experience improving accounting processes following an ERP implementation.
Why This Opportunity?
  • Meaningful work: Join an organization whose technology and engineering solutions support essential infrastructure.
