Job description

Compensation: $150,000–$180,000 base salary + equity

Atrium is seeking on behalf of our client a Senior Accounting Manager based remotely.

A background check may be run only after a conditional offer is made, where permitted by law.

Position Overview

Our client is a well-funded, growth-stage company operating at the intersection of technology, sustainability, and the physical supply chain.

The business is bringing technology and greater transparency to a large, traditionally fragmented industry, creating a more efficient way to source, move, and utilize physical materials. With significant institutional backing and relationships with major brands, the company is entering an exciting stage of growth and continuing to build out its finance infrastructure.

The Senior Accounting Manager will take ownership of core accounting operations and work closely with senior Finance leadership as the organization scales.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys being hands-on with the accounting, but also wants the opportunity to improve processes, strengthen controls, and help shape a growing finance function.

Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities
  • Take ownership of the monthly close and financial reporting process.
  • Manage balance sheet reconciliations and ensure accuracy across the general ledger.
  • Oversee accounting related to inventory, cost of goods sold, work in process, and other operational costs.
  • Maintain the integrity of NetSuite and help ensure financial information remains accurate and reliable.
  • Support accounting and reporting across multiple business entities.
  • Partner closely with Finance and Operations around costing, margins, inventory, and profitability.
  • Support audit preparation, financial controls, and external accounting requirements.
  • Work through historical accounting items and help improve data quality across financial systems.
  • Develop reporting that provides leadership with greater visibility into the economics and performance of the business.
  • Collaborate with internal and external accounting resources as needed.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes and build an accounting environment that can scale alongside continued company growth.
Required Experience/Skills
  • 8+ years of progressive accounting experience.
  • CPA background = Public Accounting Foundation
  • Experience owning or playing a significant role in the month-end close.
  • Accounting experience within a company that carries physical inventory.
  • Strong understanding of inventory, COGS, and operational accounting.
  • Exposure to product, project, or manufacturing-related costing.
  • Experience working within a multi-entity or increasingly complex accounting environment.
  • Ability to operate effectively within a dynamic, growth-stage business.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Preferred Experience/Skills
  • Background within manufacturing, consumer products, industrials, hardware, food & beverage, or another inventory-intensive business.
  • Experience supporting financial audits.
  • Exposure to ERP implementations, migrations, or financial systems improvements.Education Requirements
    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
    • CPA certification or prior CPA credentials strongly preferred. Why This Opportunity

This isn't accounting for another traditional software company.

The business has real products, physical inventory, and a complex supply chain behind the numbers, creating interesting accounting challenges across inventory, COGS, costing, margins, and operational finance.

The company is also at an attractive point in its growth. It has meaningful financial backing and an established business, while the Finance organization is still early enough in its evolution that the person joining in this role can have a real impact on how the accounting function is built and scaled.

      Benefits and Compensation

If eligible under the ACA, medical, dental and vision benefits and time off in accordance with local paid sick time laws will be offered. Additional benefits may include paid holidays, a 401(k)-retirement plan, life insurance, disability coverage, and an employee assistance program, where applicable. Other compensation programs may include overtime, shift differentials, bonuses, commissions, or other incentive compensation, where applicable.

      Commitment to Diversity

As a woman-owned firm, we value diversity. We are an equal opportunity and affirmative action employer and will consider all applications without regard to race, sex (including gender, pregnancy, sexual orientation and gender identity), age, color, religion or creed, national origin or ancestry, veteran status, disability (physical or mental), genetic information, citizenship or any other characteristic protected by law.
