Position Overview

The Accounting Manager will oversee the organization’s accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with regulatory standards. This role involves leading a team of accounting professionals, managing month-end and year-end close processes, and supporting strategic financial planning. The Accounting Manager will collaborate closely with finance, operations, and external auditors to maintain strong internal controls and drive process improvements.

Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities
  • Month/Year-End Close: Lead and manage the entire closing process, including preparing journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare, analyze, and review financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise, mentor, and evaluate junior and senior accounting staff.
  • Compliance & Controls: Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and adhere to regulatory requirements.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Collaborate with finance and operations teams to support budget development and strategic planning.
  • Auditing: Coordinate with external auditors and provide necessary documentation for annual audits.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline accounting workflows and implement financial system enhancements.
Required Experience/Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 4–8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including supervisory or team lead roles.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite), and accounting software.
  • Strong analytical capabilities and impeccable attention to detail.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Preferred Experience/Skills
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) credential.
  • Experience managing accounting teams in a corporate or public accounting environment.
  • Familiarity with GAAP and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Proven ability to implement process improvements and financial system enhancements.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
Education Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required; Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.
  • CPA or CMA certification strongly preferred.
  • Continuing education in accounting standards and financial regulations is a plus.
