Job summary

Cambium, a growth-stage startup transforming salvaged lumber into Carbon Smart Wood, is seeking an experienced Accountant to own core financial processes in NetSuite. You will manage monthly closes for the parent and two subsidiaries, ensure accurate reconciliations, and drive scalable, compliant reporting as the company scales.

You’ll partner with the Finance Operations Manager to improve project costing, data migration from legacy ERPs, and controls across the organization.

Qualifications

• 6–10 years of related accounting experience.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
• Hands-on NetSuite accounting and reconciliation across entities.
• Strong manufacturing and inventory accounting background.
• Experience with QuickBooks and ERP migrations.
• Ability to lead month-end close processes independently.

Responsibilities

• Lead the month-end close process for the parent company and two subsidiaries.
• Ensure accurate reconciliations in NetSuite (COGS, debt, assets, AP/AR).
• Migrate and clean up historical data from legacy ERPs (QB, Sage).
• Manage external accounting contractors and reporting requirements.
• Maintain NetSuite ERP integrity with real-time data.
• Support external audits and regulatory compliance.
• Provide granular reporting on margins, payment times, and deal data by region.

About This Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Accountant to join our growing finance team. This role is central to ensuring the accuracy, compliance, and integrity of our financial operations as we scale. You will own core accounting processes in NetSuite, manage monthly closes, and strengthen reporting controls across the parent company and subsidiaries.

This is a hands-on position for someone with proven NetSuite expertise, CPA credentials, and experience in manufacturing and inventory environments. You will work closely with our Finance Operations Manager to ensure precision in our books, compliance with accounting standards, and scalable processes to support rapid growth.

What You’ll Do Here

• Lead the month-end close process across the parent company and two small subsidiaries, completing within ten business days.

• Ensure accurate reconciliations in NetSuite, including COGS, debt schedules, asset tracking, AP/AR, and other balance sheet items.

• Clean up and validate historical transactions, including migrating and updating data from legacy ERPs (QuickBooks, Sage).

• Manage external accounting contractors to complete accounting and reporting requirements from management.

• Oversee ERP integrity, ensuring NetSuite reflects accurate, real-time data.

• Support external audit processes and maintain compliance with accounting standards.

• Provide granular reporting on key metrics such as margins, time to payment, and deal data segmented by region, product family, channel, and deal type.

• Partner with the Finance Operations Manager to ensure accurate project costing, and vendor/client communications.

• Maintain oversight of inventory and work in process accuracy.

Qualifications (Must-Haves)

• 6-10 years of related accounting experience.

• Certified Public Accountant at some point prior.

• Hands-on NetSuite accounting and reconciliation experience across parent and subsidiaries.

• Strong background in manufacturing and inventory accounting.

• QuickBooks experience.

• Proven ability to lead month-end close processes independently.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience participating in or leading a financial audit.

• Prior experience in high-growth or acquisition-heavy environments.

• Familiarity with migrating financial data from multiple ERPs.

• This role will report to: VP of Finance

• Salary Range: $140-195k

• When: We’re looking to fill this role immediately

• Where: SF 3x/week ideal, open to fully remote candidates outside of the Bay Area
