Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance is required.
• Master's degree preferred in business administration or related finance field.
• CPA strongly preferred.
• Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience, with at least 3 years in healthcare financial management.
• Public accounting experience preferred; experience supporting audits and compliance.
• Broader long-term care experience preferred; strong process-building ability.
• Valid driver’s license required; must meet vehicle insurance and driving record standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead full monthly close, including journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and financial reporting.
• Build and enhance accounting systems, reporting tools, and infrastructure.
• Establish controls, policies, and audit-ready procedures to support growth.
• Streamline AP/AR processes and assist with cash flow management.
• Deliver timely financial reports for senior management and board members.
• Partner with operations and cross-functional teams to ensure financial accuracy.
• Establish transition accounting for projects from Development to Accounting, including cost certifications and audits.
• Oversee tax compliance (990, 1120 and UBI) and coordinate with external advisors.
• Manage audit preparation and external auditor relationships.
• Recruit, mentor, and lead the accounting team.

This role will oversee key close processes, strengthen balance sheet integrity and support day-to-day accounting operations with a strong command of reconciliations and ledger management while utilizing IT and AI in accordance with organization policy and direction. The ideal candidate brings a hands-on approach, sound technical accounting knowledge, and the ability to improve consistency across essential financial workflows.Essential Functions Statement(s):Lead full monthly close, including journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and financial reporting.Build and enhance accounting systems, reporting tools, and infrastructure.Establish controls, policies, and audit-ready procedures to support growth.Streamline AP/AR processes and assist with cash flow management.Deliver timely financial reports for senior management and board members.Partner with operations and cross-functional teams to ensure financial accuracy.Establish transition accounting for projects from the Development Team to Accounting.
