Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Manage all aspects of general ledger accounting, including account reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, and financial statement preparation.
- Oversee accounting for Research & Development (R&D) expenditures, ensuring proper capitalization and expense recognition in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
- Manage Construction-in-Progress (CIP) accounting, including tracking project costs, reviewing capital expenditures, and facilitating asset capitalization.
- Research, interpret, and implement technical accounting guidance related to complex transactions, new accounting standards, and business initiatives.
- Serve as the accounting lead for lease accounting activities utilizing LeaseQuery, ensuring compliance with ASC 842.
- Partner with tax advisors and internal stakeholders to coordinate income tax matters, R&D tax credits, and transfer pricing requirements.
- Support external audits by preparing schedules, responding to auditor requests, and ensuring audit readiness.
- Develop, maintain, and strengthen internal controls and accounting policies.
- Lead process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, automation, and reporting accuracy across the accounting function.
- Provide mentorship, guidance, and review of work performed by accounting staff and senior accountants.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with FP&A, operations, engineering, and project management teams to support business objectives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- CPA license strongly preferred.
- 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including management or leadership responsibilities.
- Extensive experience with general ledger accounting, month-end close, and financial statement preparation.
- Strong technical accounting background with the ability to interpret and apply U.S. GAAP and SEC guidance, where applicable.
- Experience managing R&D accounting and Construction-in-Progress (CIP) accounting activities.
- Working knowledge of income tax accounting, R&D tax credits, and transfer pricing concepts.
- Hands-on experience with lease accounting and ASC 842 compliance.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365), Sage, and LeaseQuery.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively across multiple departments.
- Proven ability to manage competing priorities and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
