Job summary

CooperDouglas is seeking a Senior Manager, Accounting in El Segundo, CA to own the close in a fast-growing manufacturing environment. This hands-on leadership role is ideal for someone stepping up from Big 4 who wants to own the close and help scale controls.

You will partner with operations, drive standard costing and inventory reporting, lead the team through month-end, and oversee audits, with equity and comprehensive benefits included.

Qualifications

• Experience in a manufacturing or product-based environment.
• Strong understanding of inventory, cost accounting, and standard costing.
• Hands-on experience owning the close process.
• Experience leading and developing a team.
• Strong technical accounting foundation and attention to detail.
• Ability to operate in a fast-paced, growing environment.

Responsibilities

• Own the month-end and year-end close process from start to finish.
• Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements.
• Oversee inventory accounting, cost of goods sold, and manufacturing-related accounting activities.
• Ensure accuracy around standard costing, variance analysis, and inventory controls.
• Partner closely with operations and supply chain to support reporting and drive improvements.
• Lead the annual audit and serve as the main point of contact for external auditors.
• Drive process improvements and build scalable accounting processes and controls as the company grows.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team.
