Job summary

Rumpke Waste & Recycling in Cincinnati, OH is seeking a Senior Manager of Accounting to lead a 10+ person team, maintain GAAP compliance and strong internal controls, and own the monthly close while collaborating with business partners to set goals, metrics, and best practices.

Responsibilities include SOP development, support for year‑end audits with the Corporate Controller, evaluating ASC/ASU updates, and delivering insightful financial reporting to senior leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• CPA required; CMA or MS preferred.
• 10+ years’ experience; GAAP knowledge essential; SAP/ERP experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own the monthly and quarterly close process and ensure reconciliations are completed on schedule.
• Lead, hire, train, and develop a 10+ member accounting team.
• Prepare and review financial reports for senior leadership and key drivers.
• Establish SOPs and controls; support year-end audit and ASC/ASU adoption.
• Collaborate with the CFO and Corporate Controller on GAAP changes.
