Job summary

Oath is building AI that transforms the audit industry. We seek a senior accounting and audit professional to own engagements end to end, blending client interactions with AI-driven verification and audit procedures.

This early, senior hire at a startup will set methodologies, define what 'right' looks like, and turn unstructured problems into reliable systems. You will mentor accounting engineers and influence product and process design across the platform.

Qualifications

• 6–10+ years of audit or assurance experience with in-charge or manager-level responsibility.
• Active CPA license and solid knowledge of AU-C standards.
• Proven ability to review others' work and own final quality.
• Experience applying audit expertise beyond traditional audits (industry, consulting, product).
• Comfort with AI tools and explaining automated outputs precisely.
• Excellent written communication detailing judgments for regulators or peers.
• Strong presence to lead conversations with CFOs or fund managers.
• Experience in startup or rapidly changing environments.

Responsibilities

• Own client relationships from onboarding through engagement completion and renewal.
• Lead complex engagements and act as escalation point for methodology questions.
• Explain AI-generated work products to client teams and build confidence in outputs.
• Turn client patterns into product and process improvements for engineering.
• Plan engagements, assess risk, set materiality across funds, SPVs, and nonprofits.
• Review AI-generated workpapers and sign off before client delivery.
• Document judgment calls on evidence sufficiency and appropriateness.
• Maintain alignment with AICPA standards and firm quality policies.
• Develop and maintain audit methodologies and AI workflow standards.
• Mentor Accounting Engineers and contribute to team growth.
