Job summary

The Accounting Controller at Bristol Alliance of Companies oversees all accounting operations, payroll, payables/receivables, and financial reporting to support project management and performance. This senior, hands-on role reports to the Sr Director of Finance and Accounting and requires strong technical accounting expertise.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
• 10+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience.
• 5+ years of management or supervisory experience.
• 5+ years of government contracting experience; construction preferred.
• Demonstrated experience managing accounting operations, staff, job costing, indirect rates, and compliance.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Direct and manage all core accounting functions in a multi-site environment.
• Ensure GAAP compliance, timeliness, and accuracy of financial records.
• Oversee cash management, bank accounts, and internal controls.
• Lead cost accounting, government contracting, and indirect rate development.
• Prepare and review audits, schedules, and reconciliations with external auditors.
• Drive process improvements and strengthen internal controls.
• Supervise accounting staff, set expectations, and drive performance.
• Collaborate with operations leadership for project costing and budgeting.
