Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Progressive accounting experience within a corporate environment.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting.
• Demonstrated experience with month-end close, GL accounting, journal entries, and reconciliations.
• Experience supporting audits and maintaining internal controls.
• Strong MS Excel and ERP system skills.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize deadlines.
• Experience in PE-backed or high-growth settings preferred.
• CPA and/or public accounting experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes.
• Prepare and review journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, accruals, and schedules.
• Assist with preparation and analysis of financial statements and management reporting.
• Research and resolve complex accounting and general ledger matters.
• Support external audit requests and audit schedules.

Cherry Bekaert Recruiting & Staffing is seeking an experienced Senior Accounting Consultant to support a corporate, private equity-backed organization. This remote consulting opportunity is ideal for a hands‑on accounting professional who can quickly integrate into an established finance team, take ownership of key accounting functions, and help drive accurate, timely financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities

• Support monthly, quarterly, and year‑end close processes


• Prepare and review journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, accruals, and supporting schedules


• Assist with the preparation and analysis of financial statements and management reporting


• Research and resolve complex accounting and general ledger matters


• Support external audit requests and preparation of audit schedules


• Maintain and strengthen accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls


• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting, and close efficiency


• Partner with finance leadership on accounting initiatives and special projects

• Experience within a private equity‑backed, high‑growth, or evolving corporate environment preferred


• CPA and/or public accounting experience preferred


• Experience with ERP implementations, M&A integration, or finance transformation initiatives is a plus
