Job summary

IGS Energy in Cleveland, Ohio, seeks an accounting professional to support the accounting and financial operations of our IGS South (SCANA) gas business. You will help ensure accurate financial reporting and insights across the organization.

The role focuses on internal controls, month‑end close, and cross‑functional collaboration. A Bachelor’s in Accounting/Finance and 3+ years of accounting experience are required; CPA is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• CPA (or working toward) preferred but not required.
• 3+ years of accounting experience.
• Utility accounting experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain general ledger entries, including monthly revenue and cost of gas estimates.
• Prepare monthly reconciliations for assigned balance sheet accounts with supporting documentation.
• Process monthly supplier commodity invoices and pipeline invoices, researching billing issues.
• Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
• Ensure accuracy and timeliness of GAAP financial statements.
• Analyze variances and provide explanations to management.
• Support external audits by preparing schedules and documentation.
