Job summary

Incendia Partners is partnering with a Fortune 500 employer headquartered in Richmond to identify a Senior Accountant for its Technical Accounting & SEC Reporting team.

Although the internal title is Senior Financial Analyst, this is a corporate accounting position focused on technical accounting, SEC reporting, financial reporting, and accounting research, with opportunities to support strategic financial analysis and process improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• CPA or active progress toward CPA strongly preferred.
• 4+ years of accounting experience.
• Experience with technical accounting, SEC reporting, public company financial reporting.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP.
• SOX and financial reporting experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Research complex accounting issues and prepare technical accounting analyses.
• Assist with SEC filings, including Forms 10-K, 10-Q, and related disclosures.
• Prepare accounting memoranda and technical documentation.
• Support adoption of new accounting standards and regulatory guidance.
• Assist with SOX compliance and disclosure controls.
• Partner with finance and business leaders on complex transactions.
• Improve financial reporting processes through automation and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with external auditors and cross-functional teams.
