Job summary

Kemper CPA Group LLP in Marion, Illinois is seeking a Senior Accountant to join our regional CPA firm. This non-management professional will handle a variety of general accounting, tax, and auditing assignments, with some overtime during peak seasons and opportunities to contribute to staff development.

The role requires 3–5 years of public accounting experience (audit and tax) and a bachelor’s degree in accounting; CPA is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting and 3–5 years public accounting experience in audit and tax.
• CPA designation preferred.
• Strong Microsoft Word/Excel/Outlook skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate monthly controllership functions (AP, AR, payroll, bank reconciliations, financial statements, monthly reporting).
• Prepare financial statements, balance sheets, income statements, cash flow, notes, schedules, management letters, and tax returns.
• Complete moderately complex tax returns for individuals, partnerships, corporations, trusts, and estates.
• Coordinate and oversee audit engagements and review staff work.
• Research issues and respond to client and staff questions.
• Manage multiple client requests efficiently.
• Additional duties as assigned.
