Job summary

The Insurance Department of the State of Georgia is seeking an Accountant to perform professional finance and accounting functions. This lead role also backs up the payroll liaison for SAO Payroll Shared Services and will assist with travel reimbursements, invoicing, and procurement settlements.

Responsibilities include processing expense reimbursements, purchase orders, banking settlements, and annual salary and per diem reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting and two years of professional accounting experience.
• Experience acting as a payroll liaison or backup is a plus.
• Ability to manage multiple accounting processes with accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Perform professional level finance, accounting, and fiscal control functions.
• Back-up payroll liaison for the State Accounting Office (SAO), Payroll Shared Services.
• Submit transmittals for payroll and resolve payroll issues with SAO.
• Assist with travel reimbursement and CONCUR system administration.
• Process expense reimbursements, invoices, purchase orders, and ad hoc payments.
• Handle banking settlements and distributions to counties/municipalities for Premium Tax.
