Job description

Join to apply for the Senior Accountant, Staff role at Simon Property Group.

Location: Corporate Indianapolis

Primary Purpose: This individual reviews, maintains, and analyzes the general ledger and financial statements of four to seven assigned mall properties and their related partnership or corporate entities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and maintain the general ledger accounts for assigned properties.
  • Prepare and update monthly financial analysis, including budget and forecast variance analysis and commentary.
  • Prepare the annual operating budget and update periodic financial forecasts.
  • Distribute reporting packages to joint-venture partners as required.
  • Participate in year-end close processes and other assigned tasks.
  • Complete special projects as assigned.
  • Distribute financial reports internally and assist in reviewing, analyzing, and interpreting financial results.
  • Assist external auditors during audits.
  • Serve as a mentor for less experienced staff.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; CPA is a plus.
  • 2-3 years of relevant experience preferred.
  • Strong analytical and interpersonal skills.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Ability to adhere to strict deadlines.
  • Proficiency in accounting and spreadsheet applications.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical abilities.
