New Hampshire Housing in Bedford, NH is seeking a Senior Accountant, Section 8 & Federal Reporting to drive critical accounting functions within the Finance & Accounting Division. The role focuses on monthly reporting for Housing Assistance Payment activity and compliance with federal regulations.

You will interpret federal rules, enhance processes, and prepare reports for federal agencies while collaborating across departments to safeguard public funds.

Qualifications

• Eight to nine years of relevant work experience.
• English proficiency: read, write and speak at a proficient level.
• Experience with computerized financial systems; NH Gov Accounting Certificate preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and submit accurate, timely monthly reports of unit and Housing Assistance Payment activity through federal reporting systems.
• Interpret and apply federal accounting regulations to financial transactions and reporting requirements.
• Maintain and enhance accounting processes supporting rental assistance programs and federal compliance.

We’re hiring a full-time Senior Accountant, Section 8 & Federal Reporting for our Finance & Accounting Division.

As a Senior Accountant, you will drive key accounting functions that contribute to our mission. In this role, you will:

• Prepare and submit accurate, timely monthly reports of unit and Housing Assistance Payment activity through federal reporting systems.
• Interpret and apply federal accounting regulations to financial transactions, reporting requirements, and accounting processes.
• Maintain and enhance accounting processes and systems that support rental assistance programs and federal compliance.
• Prepare financial reports and statements for federal agencies and serve as a key resource for questions related to rental assistance reporting.
• Collaborate across departments to ensure data integrity, regulatory compliance, and effective financial stewardship of public funds.

Your experience, skills, and education should include:

• Ability to read, write and speak English at a proficient level.
• Strong accounting knowledge and experience.
• Strong ability to leverage computerized financial and accounting systems.
• Experience with Microsoft 365 suite.
• Government or fund accounting included in accounting coursework preferred or related certifications such as the NH Government Accounting Certificate.
• Eight to Nine years relevant work experience.
• Bachelor’s Degree in a related field preferred.
