Job summary

MotivHealth is seeking a Senior Accountant to maintain accuracy of financial records, prepare GAAP and STAT statements, and support month-end and year-end close in a remote or hybrid environment.

The ideal candidate has a BA in accounting or finance, 4+ years of experience, ERP experience (NetSuite and Sage), strong Excel skills, and a CPA is a plus. Public accounting experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
• 4+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting principles.
• Experience with STAT reporting is preferred.
• Experience with general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Experience using ERP, NetSuite and Sage a plus.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• CPA license preferred.
• Public accounting experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual GAAP and STAT financial statements.
• Lead the month-end and year-end close process, including journal entries and reconciliations.
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
• Maintain the general ledger and ensure the accuracy of financial transactions.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
• Prepare supporting schedules for internal and external STAT and GAAP audits and coordinate audit requests.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and company accounting policies.
• Assist with STAT regulatory reporting.
• Support process improvements by identifying opportunities to streamline accounting procedures and increase efficiency.
• Mentor and provide guidance to junior accounting staff.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business initiatives and financial reporting needs.
• Assist with special projects and other accounting duties as assigned.
