Job summary

MotivHealth Insurance Company in the United States (TX/AZ/UT) seeks a Senior Accountant to maintain GAAP and STAT reporting, lead month-end and year-end close, and ensure accurate financial statements.

You will mentor junior staff, assist budgeting and forecasting, support internal and external audits, and drive process improvements while upholding internal controls and accounting policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
• 4+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting principles.
• Experience with general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• CPA license preferred.
• Public accounting experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead the month-end and year-end close process, including journal entries and reconciliations.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual GAAP and STAT financial statements.
• Maintain the general ledger and ensure the accuracy of financial transactions.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
• Prepare supporting schedules for internal and external STAT and GAAP audits and coordinate audit requests.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and company accounting policies.
• Assist with STAT regulatory reporting.
• Support process improvements by identifying opportunities to streamline accounting procedures and increase efficiency.
• Mentor and provide guidance to junior accounting staff.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business initiatives and financial reporting needs.

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our finance team. The Senior Accountant is responsible for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of the company's financial records, preparing financial reports, assisting with month-end and year-end close processes, and ensuring compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Statutory Accounting (STAT). Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual GAAP and STAT financial statements.

Lead the month-end and year-end close process, including journal entries and reconciliations.

Perform balance sheet reconciliations and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.

Maintain the general ledger and ensure the accuracy of financial transactions.

Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.

Prepare supporting schedules for internal and external STAT and GAAP audits and coordinate audit requests.

Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and company accounting policies.

Assist with STAT regulatory reporting.
