Job summary

SCCM is seeking a Senior Accountant to oversee the integrity of financial records, manage the general ledger, and support budgeting and forecasting. The role ensures GAAP compliance, grant management, and adherence to organizational policies, with opportunities to leverage AI in accounting systems.

Ideal candidates will have a CPA, 5+ years of nonprofit accounting experience, and proficiency with Dynamics 365 BC and Jet Reports.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting required.
• CPA certification preferred.
• Experience with ERP/accounting systems; Dynamics 365 BC and Jet Reports preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Minimum 5 years progressive accounting experience; nonprofit accounting and grant management preferred.
• Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and presents financial statements and related analysis to management and staff.
• Administers grant accounting activities, including monitoring expenditures and ensuring grant compliance.
• Supports internal control processes by identifying risks and documenting procedures.
• Collaborates with Accounting, Finance, and IT to optimize AI in systems and processes.
• Reviews restricted fund statements and prepares journal entries for gains/losses and fees.
• Participates in monthly and year-end close processes.
• Maintains fixed asset records and depreciation schedules.
