Job summary

McCalla Raymer Leibert Pierce, LLP is seeking a Senior Staff Accountant to support day-to-day accounting operations, ensure accurate financial reporting, and maintain strong internal controls. This role collaborates with cross-functional teams to reconcile accounts and assist with month-end and year-end close.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor's degree in accounting, 3–6+ years of progressive accounting experience (public accounting preferred), and strong Excel and ERP skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
• 3–6+ years of progressive accounting experience; public accounting preferred.
• CPA certification or candidate preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and record journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations.
• Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts and investigate variances.
• Analyze financial results and explain significant fluctuations.
• Assist in monthly financial statements and management reports.
• Support audits, tax compliance, and regulatory filings.
• Maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules.
• Review transactions for policy adherence and internal controls.
• Collaborate with operations to resolve accounting issues and improve processes.
• Assist with cash management, treasury, and bank reconciliations.
• Support budgeting and forecasting with financial data.
• Identify automation opportunities to improve efficiency.
• Assist with system implementations and documentation.
• Perform special projects and ad hoc analyses.
