Job summary

Vornado Realty Trust in New Jersey is seeking a Senior Accountant for BMS to support GAAP financial statements and daily accounting operations.

You will handle journal entries, reconciliations, month-end close, and collaboration with divisional controllers. This is hands-on, detail-oriented work in a fast-paced real estate environment.

Candidates should have 2–4 years of accounting experience and a Bachelor’s in Accounting; strong Excel and ERP familiarity are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
• 2–4 years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and accounting principles.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting software; ERP experience preferred.
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Strong organizational and time management abilities.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
• Perform general ledger reconciliations and analysis.
• Support month-end and year-end close processes including journal entries and accruals.
• Maintain and reconcile bank accounts and subsidiary ledgers.
• Assist in preparation and filing of sales tax and other regulatory reports.
• Collaborate with operations and management to address variances and receivables.
• Support the Divisional Controller with financial analysis, cost tracking, and variance reporting.
• Participate in process improvements to strengthen controls and efficiency.
• Assist with audits by preparing schedules and documentation.
