Job summary

Wilks Development, LLC is seeking a Senior Accountant to oversee financial operations for our real estate development projects. The role ensures accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting, adherence to GAAP, and timely close processes across multiple entities.

You will manage project accounting, budgeting, and cost tracking while supporting audits and financial modeling in a fast-paced environment. Based on our Fort Worth, TX facility, this on-site position offers a comprehensive benefits

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or MBA preferred.
• 5–7 years accounting experience, with at least 3 years in real estate development or construction.
• GAAP knowledge and real estate accounting incl. job costing and WIP.
• Proficiency in accounting software such as Yardi, MRI, QuickBooks, or Sage 300 is a plus.
• Advanced Excel and financial modeling.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• High level of integrity and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for multiple entities and development projects.
• Maintain general ledgers, perform month-end and year-end closings.
• Oversee accounts payable/receivable, bank reconciliations, and cash flow management.
• Perform project accounting including cost tracking, budgeting, and variance analysis for active developments.
• Assist with development pro formas and financial models.
• Monitor and reconcile construction draws, loan compliance, and funding schedules.
• Coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, and financial institutions.
• Identify process improvements and assist in accounting system upgrades and best practices.
• Collaborate closely with development, asset management, and project management teams.
