• 3–5 years of accounting experience in real estate development and construction
• Strong understanding of accrual accounting and GAAP
• Demonstrated experience with construction draws and knowledge of the construction project lifecycle
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Highly organized and detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects

Responsibilities

• Prepare, process, and review construction draw requests meeting lender requirements, budgets, and timelines.
• Collaborate with project managers, general contractors, lenders, and leadership to ensure well-supported draw submissions.
• Reconcile construction draws and allocate project costs across land, hard costs, soft costs, permits, materials, and other categories.
• Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and reclassifications; perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
• Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting, including budget-to-actual analysis for development projects.
• Prepare management reporting packages covering project and portfolio performance.
• Code construction-related vendor and subcontractor invoices and monitor project cash activity.
• Support fundings, distributions, transfers, and payments to contractors and vendors.
• Prepare financial reporting packages for banks and lenders related to loan covenant compliance and reporting.
• Assist with annual development/construction budgets, forecasting, and re-forecasting.
• Compile workpapers and schedules for audits, reviews, and tax preparation; coordinate with external firms.
