Job summary

Buffalo Biodiesel Inc. in Buffalo, NY is seeking an organized Accountant to join our growing accounting team. Reporting to the Controller, you will support day-to-day accounting, ensure accurate records, and help close the books on a timely basis.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of accounting experience, proficiency with QuickBooks Online and NetSuite, and a solid GAAP background. You will contribute to process improvements and stronger internal controls in a fast-paced, multi-entity

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting.
• 5+ years of accounting experience.
• Strong proficiency with QuickBooks Online and NetSuite is required.
• Solid understanding of GAAP and general accounting principles.
• Experience with account reconciliations and month-end close.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Experience in a multi-entity environment (preferred).
• Experience improving accounting processes and internal controls (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Assist the Controller with monthly, quarterly, and year-end close process.
• Prepare journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations for Controller review.
• Maintain the general ledger.
• Perform daily and monthly bank, credit card, and financing reconciliations.
• Assist with inventory, fixed asset, and lease accounting.
• Prepare supporting schedules for financial reporting, tax filings, and audits.
• Ensure accounting records are complete, accurate, and properly documented.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, internal controls, and efficiencies.
• Provide backup support for other accounting functions as needed.
