Job summary

ADP in Kellogg, ID is seeking a Senior Accountant to support the Controller with daily accounting operations, close, and reporting. This hands-on role emphasizes accuracy, process discipline, and ownership of core accounting areas.

You will perform journal entries, reconciliations, and analysis, assist with the monthly close, and support SOX controls and internal management reporting. CPA eligibility is required or in progress, with prior public company experience preferred.

Qualifications

• CPA license required or actively on track to obtain CPA certification.
• Ideally currently in, or recently from, public company audit; or at least 1 year of hands-on accounting in a public company.
• Strong understanding of US GAAP and financial close processes.
• Leadership, mentoring, and knowledge sharing aptitude without formal people-management responsibility.
• Process improvement mindset balancing accuracy, efficiency, and deadlines.
• Strong attention to detail with ability to explain accounting results to leadership.

Responsibilities

• Perform and review daily, monthly, and quarterly accounting activities including journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
• Active role in monthly close, ensuring timely, accurate, well-documented results.
• Maintain balance sheet integrity through ownership of accounts and schedules.
• Support external reporting, including audit support and documentation.
• Partner with Controller to prepare internal management reporting and analyses.
• Assist with SOX controls execution, documentation, and remediation.
• Identify inefficiencies and design practical process improvements.
• Serve as a technical resource within the accounting team.
• Support ad hoc accounting projects and initiatives as assigned.
