Job summary

Vaco is seeking a hands-on Senior Accountant for a remote role with travel to newly acquired locations. The position focuses on supporting accounting integration, month-end close improvements, and standardized controls across acquired entities.

You will assess processes, perform cleanups, and implement best practices in a fast-growing, acquisition-focused organization. CPA is a plus; travel is regular.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required.
• 3–5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and internal controls.
• Experience with acquisitions, accounting integrations, or cleanup projects preferred.
• Willingness to travel to acquired locations.

Responsibilities

• Travel to newly acquired companies to support integration and transition activities.
• Establish consistent accounting procedures, controls, and best practices.
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations, journal entry corrections, and GL cleanup.
• Assist with month-end close improvements, including reconciliations and schedules.
• Review historical records and resolve discrepancies to improve reporting reliability.
• Document SOPs and scalable processes with local accounting teams.
• Support post-acquisition accounting policies, reporting, and ERP transitions.
• Provide hands-on accounting support during transitions and knowledge gaps.
