Job summary

Big Chief Supply, LLC is seeking a Senior Accountant to own payroll processing for ~130 employees across three segments, while supporting month-end close, GL accounting, and expense management. The role requires strong analytical and organizational skills, with the ability to independently manage payroll processes and maintain confidential information.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's in Accounting, 3+ years of corporate accounting experience, and advanced Excel.

Qualifications

• BS degree in accounting or closely related field.
• 3+ years of hands-on corporate accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of GL, journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations.
• Experience supporting month-end close in a corporate setting.
• Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups).
• Ability to learn payroll administration and systems.

Responsibilities

• Process biweekly payroll for ~130 employees across segments.
• Manage contributions for HSA, FSA, and 401(k) plans.
• Maintain payroll data in Paycor and reconcile payroll to GL.
• Serve as Paycor liaison for payroll questions and notices.
• Prepare payroll journal entries and accruals.
• Support month-end close and reconciliations.
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts related to payroll and taxes.
• Oversee Navan expense program and corporate card reconciliations.
• Collaborate with colleagues to resolve payroll/accounting questions.
• Identify process improvements and strengthen internal controls.
