Job summary

Vaco by Highspring is seeking a Senior Accountant to build the financial infrastructure across a growing portfolio of entities. You will own day-to-day accounting, strengthen reporting and controls, and partner with executive leadership in a fast-paced environment.

This role offers exposure to multi-entity accounting, intercompany allocations, and ERP optimization. Travel and Wilmington-area work flexibility are available as the organization expands.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of full-cycle accounting experience
• Multi-entity accounting experience including intercompany transactions and allocations
• Experience preparing and filing multi-state sales and use tax returns
• Experience utilizing cloud-based ERP systems in a multi-entity environment
• Advanced Excel skills including pivot tables, lookup functions, and reconciliations
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

Responsibilities

• Manage full-cycle accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
• Maintain general ledger activity across multiple entities
• Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and intercompany transactions
• Process intercompany allocations and reconciliations
• Maintain vendor records, compliance documentation, and supporting accounting schedules
• Prepare and file multi-state sales and use tax returns
• Support monthly close through reconciliations, accruals, and supporting schedules
• Maintain general ledger accuracy across multiple entities
• Prepare monthly financial reports and supporting analyses
• Assist leadership in improving close quality, reporting accuracy, and timeliness
• Document and improve accounting procedures and workflows
• Strengthen internal controls, approval processes, and financial reporting consistency
• Coordinate with operational teams on financial workflows and payment processes
• Support audit readiness and external reporting requests
• Manage accounting activity across multiple business entities

About the Role

A rapidly growing live events, venue operations, and entertainment organization is seeking a Senior Accountant to help build the financial infrastructure needed to support continued expansion.

This role offers significant exposure to multi-entity accounting, financial operations, process improvement, and ERP optimization. Reporting directly to executive leadership, the Senior Accountant will own day-to-day accounting activities across a growing portfolio of entities while helping strengthen reporting, controls, and overall accounting processes.

The ideal candidate enjoys rolling up their sleeves, improving processes, and operating in a fast-paced environment where no two days are exactly alike.

Key Responsibilities

Accounting Operations

• Manage full-cycle accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
• Maintain general ledger activity across multiple entities
• Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and intercompany transactions
• Process intercompany allocations and reconciliations
• Maintain vendor records, compliance documentation, and supporting accounting schedules
• Prepare and file multi-state sales and use tax returns

Month-End Close & Financial Reporting

• Support monthly close through reconciliations, accruals, and supporting schedules
• Maintain general ledger accuracy across multiple legal entities
• Prepare monthly financial reports and supporting analyses
• Assist leadership in improving close quality, reporting accuracy, and timeliness

Systems, Controls & Process Improvement

• Document and improve accounting procedures and workflows
• Strengthen internal controls, approval processes, and financial reporting consistency
• Coordinate with operational teams on financial workflows and payment processes
• Support audit readiness and external reporting requests

Multi-Entity Accounting

• Manage accounting activity across multiple business entities
• Process and reconcile intercompany balances
• Ensure consistency of accounting treatment across entities
• Support organizational growth through scalable accounting processes

Qualifications

Required

• 5+ years of full-cycle accounting experience
• Multi-entity accounting experience including intercompany transactions and allocations
• Experience preparing and filing multi-state sales and use tax returns
• Experience utilizing cloud-based ERP systems in a multi-entity environment
• Advanced Excel skills including pivot tables, lookup functions, and reconciliations
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

Strongly Preferred

• Entertainment, hospitality, venue operations, event management, sports, or other event-driven business experience
• Experience supporting a multi-site operating environment
• Experience with event settlements, venue-level financial reporting, or project/event-based accounting

Additional Preferred Experience

• ERP implementation or optimization experience
• SOP documentation and process improvement initiatives
• Experience supporting audits and external tax providers
• Strong organizational skills and ability to operate independently
