Job summary

Venture Global LNG in Cameron, LA is seeking a Senior Accountant to support the day-to-day operational accounting for our LNG facilities and pipeline assets. This onsite role will partner with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, FP&A and Corporate Accounting to ensure accurate financial reporting and strong operational support.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and able to adapt to a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

Qualifications

• CPA designation or progress toward CPA certification preferred.
• Experience with SAP and/or other large ERP systems preferred.
• Knowledge of construction project accounting and fixed asset accounting concepts preferred.
• Strong understanding of internal controls, accounting processes, and financial reporting principles.
• Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Partner with FP&A for monthly operational reporting, KPI analysis, and forecasting.
• Collaborate with onsite teams to ensure consistent accounting treatment and policy compliance.

Summary

We are seeking a Senior Accountant to join our growing Accounting team. This position will support the day-to-day operational accounting activities for our LNG facilities and pipeline assets and will be based onsite at our Cameron Parish LNG facilities. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly analytical, and able to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced, high-growth environment. This role will work cross-functionally with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Construction, FP&A, and Corporate Accounting teams to ensure accurate financial reporting and strong operational support.

General Description Duties & Responsibilities

• Support operational accounting processes related to the Company’s Calcasieu Pass LNG facility and TransCameron Pipeline operations, including:
  • Commodities and warehouse inventory accounting
  • Maintenance and operations cost reporting
  • Safeguarding of facility assets
• Prepare, calculate, and record monthly accruals, journal entries, and adjusting entries within the SAP ERP system.
• Serve as the Accounting lead for inventory safeguarding activities and cycle count processes.
• Act as the onsite Accounting lead for capital projects and related fixed asset accounting activities.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial analyses and reporting packages.
• Complete monthly account reconciliations, investigate variances, and submit reconciliations.
• Coordinate with the Corporate Accounting team to ensure operational activity is accurately recorded, reconciled, reviewed, and reported in accordance with monthly, quarterly, and annual close timelines.
• Partner with the FP&A team to support monthly operational reporting, KPI analysis, forecasting support, and ad hoc projects.
• Collaborate with onsite Accounting teams supporting CP2 and Plaquemines facilities to ensure consistent accounting treatment and compliance with company policies and procedures.
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with onsite stakeholders, including Warehouse, Maintenance, Engineering, Construction, and Operations personnel.
• Support system implementations, process improvement initiatives, and automation efforts designed to improve efficiency and strengthen internal controls.
• Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
