Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting
• Minimum of 3 years of general accounting experience
• Retail/Manufacturing experience
• Franchisor/Franchisee experience
• Public accounting experience
• Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word
• Must be detailed oriented
• Able to communicate in English (written and spoken)
• Recognize discrepancies and resolve data errors
• Analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
• Ability to work under demanding time constraints and production goals
• Demonstrated customer-focused behavior in transactions and reporting
• Adhere to Buff City Soap policies and procedures

Responsibilities

• Own month-end close for assigned entities with journal entries (accruals, prepaids, intercompany, fixed assets)
• Maintain entity ledgers and support consolidations across multi-entity structure
• Account for royalties, fees, and deferred revenue per ASC 606; reconcile franchise reporting
• Assist with sales and use tax compliance and audit support across jurisdictions
• Prepare payroll journal entries and expense analyses
• Perform GL reconciliations and investigate variances
• Develop accounting processes for new operations and initiatives
• Prepare monthly and quarterly leadership reporting packages
• Support audits with schedules and PBC requests
• Identify opportunities to improve controls and scalable processes
• Collaborate with Finance, Operations, IT on reporting and system improvements
