Job summary

The Baldwin Group is seeking a Senior Accountant on the Month-End Accounting team for our MGA operations. You will own the revenue cycle from policy issuance to recognition, perform ASC 606 adjustments, and partner across carriers, agents, and internal teams to ensure accurate financial reporting.

Responsibilities include flux analytics, reconciliations to the GL, and maintaining SOX controls, with close collaboration to D&A, Development, Product, FP&A, Operations, and Billing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
• 4–6 years of accounting experience (insurance/MGA preferred).
• Strong ASC 606 and revenue recognition knowledge.
• Hands-on experience with policy administration systems and ERP integrations (NetSuite and/or Workday preferred).
• Strong month-end close experience and SOX business-process controls.

Responsibilities

• Review production reports; ensure revenue cycle accuracy from policy issuance through recognition.
• Prepare ASC 606 adjustments, accruals, and reserves within the monthly close timeline; review contract modifications for proper treatment.
• Perform flux/variance analytics with clear commentary for leadership.
• Reconcile policy-management-system outputs to the GL; investigate and resolve discrepancies.
• Prepare, maintain, and execute SOX business-process controls over the revenue cycle.
• Support quarterly close, audits, and external auditor requests.
• Act as Accounting’s primary contact on MGA policy system functionality and financial-system integrations.
