Job summary

Sunoco LP seeks a Senior Accountant to join the fast growing Midstream Operational Accounting team. You will perform a variety of accounting functions including inventory analysis, margin and operating expense review, and complex journal entries.

The role requires 8 years of related experience with a strong background in SAP S/4 FIORI/Winshuttle, IFRS and US GAAP, and advanced MS Excel skills. The position supports mergers, acquisitions, and SOX compliance in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 8 years of related experience.
• Prior fuel inventory and general ledger accounting experience preferred
• Strong experience in SAP S/4 FIORI/Winshuttle.
• Experience working with Right Angle preferred
• IFRS and US GAAP preferred
• Strong analytic and data analysis skills required, especially MS Excel.
• Must display good judgment and be able to work independently
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Assist with financial analysis of Sunoco LP midstream terminal locations, including inventory, margin and operating expenses
• Work with internal and external customers to research accounting variances, disputes and complex transactions
• Assist with purchase accounting and integration efforts on Sunoco mergers and acquisitions
• Compiling and preparing of intermediate to high level/technical journal entries to general ledger accounts
• Assist management with ad hoc projects and process improvements
• Ensure compliance with SOX controls
• Apply the financial policies and procedures of the organization and inform management of inconsistencies and problems.
