Job summary

firstPRO, Inc is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant for its South Jersey manufacturing finance team. The role reports to the Controller and offers autonomy with exposure to domestic and international accounting activities.

The successful candidate will lead close processes, manage cost accounting, and partner with operations and leadership to drive accurate financial reporting and process improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field required.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing.
• Experience with cost accounting, standard costing, inventory accounting, overheads, PPV, variances.

Responsibilities

• Lead month-end and year-end close activities with journals, accruals, reconciliations, and schedules.
• Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial results for accurate reporting.
• Manage manufacturing accounting including standard costing, overheads, inventory reserves, PPV, and variances.
• Provide cost reporting and balance sheet analysis to reflect manufacturing performance.
• Support inventory counts and reconcile inventory transactions and GL accounts.
• Maintain fixed asset accounting, depreciation, and capital project tracking.
• Analyze joint venture accounting and related entries.
• Support foreign currency accounting, European VAT filings, and tax compliance as applicable.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting.
• Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, IFRS where applicable, and internal controls.
• Support external audits, regulatory reporting, and state audits.
• Collaborate with operations, supply chain, manufacturing, and finance to improve processes.
• Assist with ERP system enhancements and accounting process improvements.

A specialty chemical manufacturing company is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join its finance team in South Jersey. This position supports a U.S.-based manufacturing operation and reports directly to the Controller.

This is an excellent opportunity for a strong manufacturing accountant who enjoys working independently, taking ownership of financial reporting and analysis, and partnering with operations and business leadership. The position offers significant autonomy and exposure to both domestic and international accounting activities.

What You’ll Do

• Lead month-end and year-end close activities, including journal entries, accruals, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
• Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial results to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
• Manage and analyze manufacturing accounting, including standard costing, overheads, inventory reserves, inventory valuation, purchase price variance (PPV), and production variances.
• Provide cost reporting and balance sheet account analysis to ensure financial results accurately reflect manufacturing performance.
• Support inventory counts and reconcile inventory transactions and related general ledger accounts.
• Maintain fixed asset accounting, depreciation schedules, and capital project tracking.
• Perform account analysis related to the company's joint venture operations.
• Support foreign currency accounting, European VAT filings, and sales/use and property tax compliance, as applicable.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and management reporting.
• Ensure compliance with company accounting policies, U.S. GAAP, applicable IFRS requirements, and internal controls.
• Support external audits, tax filings, regulatory reporting, and periodic state audits.
• Partner with operations, supply chain, manufacturing, and finance teams to improve financial processes and reporting.
• Assist with ERP system enhancements and accounting process improvements.

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within manufacturing, chemical, industrial, or process-manufacturing environments.
• Hands-on experience with cost accounting, standard costing, inventory accounting, overheads, inventory reserves, and manufacturing variances/PPV.
