Job summary

The Florida Legislature Office of Legislative Services is seeking a Senior Accountant to administer intradistrict expense payments and provide financial support to Senators and staff. You will ensure accurate, timely processing of financial transactions and maintain compliant accounting records.

The role reports to the Senate Intradistrict Account Program Manager and involves audits, reimbursements, lease payments, and collaboration with districts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting with three years of professional accounting or auditing experience.
• CPA or equivalent can substitute for one year of required experience.
• Knowledge of accounting rules, procedures, and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain accounting records; monitor budgets and reports.
• Process expense and travel reimbursements for legislators and staff.
• Audit activities and provide financial support to the Senate districts.
• Plan workloads and deadlines with Districts; ensure proper completion of tasks.
